Print and e-book interiors
are designed to accomodate the requirements of technological book-making
processes while remaining good looking and readable for your target audience.
Design services start at $30 and covers choice of typeface, page layout,
headers, footers, etc. If we typeset or format your book, the design fee
typesetting services and formatting for e-books start at one cent
($.01) per three (3) words, or $.0030 per word. A 50,000-word manuscript
would cost $150 for either service. If both services are ordered,
the first is charged at the normal price, and the second at 50% of the
first. There is a minimum charge of $50. These charges apply to projects
that are mostly straight text with front matter, chapter headings, and
header and/or footers for page numbers.
Projects that include a table
of contents, graphic images and captions, end notes, etc., and other elements
will be charged by the job. Estimates prepared after initial consultation.
Completed interior files are delivered as email attachments or via Drop Box.
INTERIOR BOOK DESIGN
This is primarily a consulting
service; you receive a short pdf file showing the design elements suggested
for your project -- fonts and sizes, margins, page layout, header and footer
design, decorative flourishes, images and other elements, in a two to three page document.
HERE see a pdf sample.
Your print project -- which
includes promotional items such as flyers and brochures, post cards, business
cards and other items as well as books -- will be laid out and typeset
in QuarkXpress and output as .pdf files. Other file types may be
accomodated by request.Output is black and white or color. Click

E-book manuscripts are converted
to html files. Their word-processor formatting is stripped and added
back via html tags. These include paragraph indents and/or blank line inserts,
italics and boldface, block indents, and similar formatting elements.
The completed html document is then converted to whatever electronic format
the client specifies. Click HERE
