TYPESETTING AND FORMATTING
Design services start at
$30 and covers choice of typeface, page layout, headers, footers, etc.
If we typeset or format your book, the design fee is waived.
Print typesetting services
and formatting for e-books start at 1/2 cent per word. There
is a minimum charge of $100. This amount is for a project that is
mostly straight text with front matter, chapter headings, and header and/or
footers for page numbers.
Projects that include a table
of contents, graphic images and captions, end notes, etc., and other elements
will be charged by the job. Estimates prepared after initial consultation.
Formatted e-books are output as html files.
Interior files are delivered
as email attachments.

book-making processes while remaining good looking and readable for your
target audience.

This is primarily a consulting
service; you receive a short pdf file showing the design elements suggested
for your project -- fonts and sizes, margins, page layout, header and footer
design, decorative glyphs and other elements, in a two to three page
document.

Your print project -- which
includes promotional items such as flyers and brochures, post cards, business
cards and other items as well as books -- will be laid out and typeset
in QuarkXpress and output as .pdf files. Other file types may be
accomodated as well. Output is black and white or color. Click

E-book manuscripts are converted
to html files. Their word-processor formatting is stripped and added
back via html tags. These include paragraph indents and/or blank line inserts,
italics and boldface, block indents, and similar formatting elements.
The completed html document is then converted to whatever electronic format
